Anyone can make money from blogging – trust me. All you need is time, dedication and great content. Of course, you won’t start making money overnight but give it time and keep at it and soon you will be making a good amount of extra money to book that dream holiday you’ve always wanted to take!
Today, I’m going to talk about a variety of ways you can monetise your blog. Whether you are a stay-at-home parent and are looking for ways to make extra money from home or have recently started a blog and are curious about how to make money while writing about the things you love – today is your lucky day!
Ad Lab, Magento agency, recommend creating an eCommerce store on your blog to sell your products. What products should you sell? You might be asking. If you have a niche blog, why not sell products that are related to your blog and your audience?
For instance, if you have a blog all about sports, you could sell branded sports gear. Maybe you have a blog all about sustainable living, why not start making eco-friendly sustainable living start-up kits for people who want to give it a go but are unsure of what to buy? The choices are endless.
Maybe you have an arts and crafts hobby and love giving your creations to your family, friends and even your neighbours. Why not sell your creations on your blog too? It will give your audience another way to support you and give you another way to make money from the things you enjoy doing. It’s a win, win!
Marcus Cook, founder of The Success Bug, shared with Business Insider how he’s been making $2,000 (£1,466.90) a month in passive income from his blog. He explained that display advertising has been his main revenue source, sharing that by partnering up premier ad networks like Ezoic, Mediavine, and Ad Thrive “your revenue per thousand pageviews will go up to anywhere from $7 to $30.”
“If you are a smaller content creator, partnering up with brands might seem too far from reach. Not so fast! You have an audience, you have a platform. If you’re putting out great content and have fantastic engagement with your audience, that’s all you need!” says Adventures of a Yorkshire Mum and I couldn’t agree more. No matter the size of your audience, you can partner with brands. If companies are not reaching out to your, contact them yourself and pitch your ideas.
You might have heard or seen bloggers talk about how some links in their blog are affiliate links but what does that mean? Affiliate marketing is a way of referring companies and, more specifically, products you recommend others to use. This is done with a special link that tells the company that this specific traffic and these sales came from you recommending them. If people purchase products using your link, you’ll earn a commission. As Welsh Mum comments, “Affiliate marketing will be your best friend. I mean, who doesn’t love some passive income whilst promoting the products you love to use?”
