If there is anything that brings back the magic to how I see things it’s seeing them through the eyes of my children. The new Ocean Invaders exhibition at the Sea Life London Aquarium did just that. I was smiling so much on our family day in London that my face hurt.
We’ve visited the Sea Life London Aquarium before and found it to be really busy. However this time we visited first thing and I was surprised by how quiet it was. The new exhibition it at the end of your journey through the aquarium and it was by far our favourite part. It is really magical and immersive seeing all the jellyfish floating past, changing colours. Ava just LOVED it! She was absolutely amazed by it all. The film we made below does a better job of explaining it.
Our day of fun didn’t end there as you can see in the film. We were also able to try out a Thames boat cruise and experience Shrek’s Adventure. Unfortunately you aren’t allowed to take photos or film in Shrek’s Adventure but it was fab. The new 4d experience was very impressive and all the costumed characters played their roles so well. It was fast moving and kept the fleeting attention span of the 9 year old. He is still raving about it a couple of weeks later. Finlay at 6 found a few of the rooms slightly scary so it’s definitely better for slightly older children.
The Thames river boat cruise was also an unique experience. Made even more amazing by the fact it was London Marathon day. We were sailing past all the runners and the atmosphere. It was nice to be able to sit and point out all the landmarks as we went past them. I’ve seen them before but not from that angle so it was a new experience for me too.
We packed a lot in to our day as we also enjoyed some time on the Southbank, one of my favourite places. There are so many different places you can visit for a family day in London. Have a look on Attractiontix for ideas and discounts. We have been lucky enough to try the London Eye and Kidzania recently too. You can check out our review and film of our day if you fancy. The Science museum and the Princess Diana Memorial gated playground are free activities you can do that we have also checked out.
Disclosure: We received free entry to the Sea Life London Aquarium, The Thames River Cruise and Shrek’s Adventure in return for pictures on my social media. I wasn’t asked to write this post or film our vlog however we had such an amazing day I wanted to. Thank you Attractiontix.
