5 Ways To Make Your Kitchen Feel Like New

When it comes to redecorating your kitchen, you can often feel at a loss at how to make the room feel like new without buying a new fitted kitchen. However, there are ways of making your kitchen feel like new without entirely ripping out your existing kitchen and replacing it with a new one which will save you time and effort and your wallet money.

Invest in some new kitchen appliances

Buying new kitchen appliances does not have to mean investing in new bulky pieces of kitchen equipment. Instead, it can mean buying a new slim smoothie blender rather than a bulky hand blender or a sleek knife rack that you can display proudly in your kitchen. New kitchen appliances will not only help make your cooking and baking easier, but they can also help make your kitchen appear more modern. You could also try and colour coordinate all of your appliances, so they appear more uniform and give your kitchen a new colour scheme, which may make it feel fresh and colourful.

Change your kitchen floor

One aspect of the kitchen that is often overlooked is your kitchen floor. Replacing your kitchen floor can totally change the room. One type of flooring which is gaining popularity at the moment is epoxy flooring. Epoxy flooring is more durable than other types of flooring, making it perfect for kitchens where there are often lots of spillages. They are also easy to clean, which makes them an excellent option for those with children. Epoxy flooring looks great anywhere in your home but looks great in the kitchen due to its smooth polished effect.

Declutter your kitchen

You will be surprised at how much of a difference decluttering your kitchen can make. Kitchens are for cooking and eating in, so a good rule to remember is only to have objects in your kitchen that will be used for those purposes. Items which take up a lot of space, such as a dog bed or a television, should be moved into a different room, as they will only take up floor and counter space and make movement difficult. This is more of an issue if you do not have a big kitchen, but you can never have too much floor or counter space, no matter the size of your kitchen.

Change from blinds to shutters

Shutters are coming back in style again, and it is easy to see why. Shutters give any room a Mediterranean feel to them and allow you to let in as much or as little light as you want. Shutters also allow you to keep the heat in your kitchen and the cold out, making them a valuable addition to any kitchen. If you want to give your kitchen a more rustic feel, then shutters are the perfect option for you as they look more traditional than just blinds or curtains.

Install under-cabinet lighting

Under-cabinet lighting is a subtle way to install more lighting into your kitchen without sacrificing any space. These lights are much less harsh than ones on your ceiling, so they give you just enough light to do your cooking without blinding anyone. They are hidden in such a way that many will not even realise that you have under cabinet lighting.
