#366DaysofPositive creating a happy outlook

If you are anything like me then January is a tough month. The excitement of Christmas is over, the dark nights are no longer twinkly and summer feels like a thousand years away! I always find it hard to stay positive in January and some years have found it easier to just sink in to the slump. This year I decided to do something different and that’s when #366DaysofPositive was born. I would love for you to join me and I will explain why.

Research has shown that thinking of 3 things each day that you are grateful for can change your outlook on life to that of a happier one. Action for Happiness explains that in tests, people who tried it each night for just one week were happier and less depressed one month, three months and six months later. Something so simple can have a huge impact.

Each day as well as thinking of three I am choosing one for the positive of the day. I love taking pictures and it’s something that brings me happiness so most of these will be captures of the little or big things in life that happen that make me happy. Some days when I am at work, its wet and cold, it may instead be a memory or a thought that makes me feel happy and I will make an image of these like the one below. I will be posting a lot of them to my Instagram account which has long been my favourite social media account.

You can join in with this every day or whenever you have something positive to share. Every two weeks I will do a round up of my favourite pictures tagged with the #366DaysofPositive hashtag on my blog and on Instagram to help other readers find you. So please tag your positive photos and focus on the positive.

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram here is my account.
