My 4 year old loves animated programmes. He doesn’t realise how lucky he is to be able to watch tv whenever (within reason) he wants. We have Sky so we can record his favourite programmes. Which comes in handy when they only want to watch one programme, repeatedly and you end up watching the one recorded episode again and again.
We hadn’t heard of Heroes in the City, so I was excited when I was contacted by them as I knew just from the images it would be something he would like.
Heroes of the City is an animated TV-series for preschool children about rescue vehicles in a small town where everybody gets to be a hero! It teaches the importance of friendship and what we can achieve by helping each other.
The great thing about this programmes is that not only is it available on DVD, handy for taking with you, but it is on YouTube. 6 hours of it! So none of the watching the same episode, or waiting for a programme to come on. Heroes of the City is aimed at 2-6 year olds, however my 7 year old also enjoys it. Their favourite character is Calamity Crow who is very clumsy and I’m told ‘funny’. If you think your little one would like to have a watch, you can here.
As well as the shows, the channel also has memory training games, creative crafting ideas, and Calamity Crow’s Sketch & Guess game – try guess what’s being drawn before the picture is finished.
We were also sent a little box of goodies to go with Heroes of the City. A t’shirt, blow up ball, die cast car and a DVD of the programme.
The 4 year old loves the t’shirt as it has the characters on it and both boys have had hours of fun with the ball. The DVD has been taken to Nana and Granddad’s to show them and Fiona the Fire Engine was taken to bed and Pre-School. In other words they have all been a big hit.
I’m able to offer the chance for one lucky child to win all of these Heroes of the City goodies (see the picture above). All you have to do is enter below. Good luck.
- A size of your choice character T’shirt
- Blow up ball
- DVD
- Die-cast car (will vary from the photo)
