Prestige Eco Pots And Pans Review & Giveaway / AD

How eco-friendly is your cookware? I will admit, it’s not really something I have considered before on our green-living journey. The food we cook and the containers they come in yes, but the pots and pans we use, not so much. But now thanks to Prestige Eco cookware you can cook in eco pots and pans and make your cooking and your kitchen even greener!

Prestige Eco Cookware pots and pans are made with a revolutionary new plant-based material that’s non-stick, PFOA-free and palm oil-free, as well as being made from recycled material. The pans are also recyclable themselves!

I love discovering brands that are doing great things to become more sustainable. Prestige has also teamed up with TREE AID, and they’ll plant a tree with them for every Eco pan sold, how great is that?!

There are a total of seven items in Prestige’s Eco Cookware range:

Every type of pot and pan you will need in your kitchen and all of the eco cookware can be used on any cooker type, including induction. With a lovely green flecked colour, the pans are also scratch-resistant too. Other plus points for me are that they are dishwasher safe and can be used in the oven up to 150°C/300°F/Gas Mark 2.

When using the pans one of the things you will notice is how lightweight they are so no accidental dropping of a heavy pan. But if the pans do get damaged they have a 5-year quality guarantee as well – longevity is so important when trying to be more sustainable.

Cooking with Prestige Eco Pots And Pans

I decided to put the Prestige Eco Pans to the test by cooking a risotto, notoriously difficult to get just right and perfect to check just how non-stick they really are!

We walked to the allotment to see what fresh veg we could gather to use, picking an onion, french beans and peas. I also used some peppers we had at home to make a delicious fresh vegetable risotto.

Using the Prestige eco pots and pans I think I cooked my best risotto yet! There was definitely no sticking as the rice slowly cooked and the vegetables were easy to soften up without burning. The washing up was a breeze as well. A complete success! I’m so pleased to now have some great eco-friendly pans to use.

Fresh Vegetable Risotto

Try this recipe yourself and cook a delicious fresh vegetable risotto. The beauty of this recipe is that you can keep it seasonal, adding vegetables that are fresh and currently available!

Ingredients

Method

  1. Prepare your vegetables by carefully washing and cutting them.
  2. Make your vegetable stock and leave simmering to keep warm.
  3. Heat some oil in a large pan and add the arborio rice. Stir until the edges have turned translucent. Then ladle in your first of the stock stirring until the rice has almost absorbed the water before adding another.
  4. Meanwhile, in a separate pan, add the onions stirring until softened. Then add the rest of your vegetables, stirring occasionally. Don’t allow them to burn, you want them soft but still tender. Once they are softened turn down the heat.
  5. Keep adding a ladle of stock at a time to the rice making sure it doesn’t dry out and don’t forget to stir.
  6. Once your risotto is “al dente” turn off the heat add your cheese, a little butter and a good helping of salt and pepper, place the lid on and allow to melt.
  7. Once melted stir in the cheese, butter and seasoning, add the sautéed vegetables and you’re good to go!
