If you could get on a plane tomorrow and fly anywhere in the World, where would it be? For me, without a doubt, it would be Thailand. Since going there at 18, I have dreamed of returning. I loved everything about the place, from Bangkok’s bustling markets, and elephant trekking in the jungle of Khao Sok National Park, to spending the day on a tropical beach. I often dream of going there again, staying on the beach in a beautiful private villa or even a beach hut, waking up and stepping out onto the sand. Koh Samui would be top of my list with its relaxed vibe and much to do.
Top 4 things to do in Koh Samui
If you get the chance to visit Koh Samui, my top 4 things to do in Koh Samui would be;
- Visit Anthong National Marine Park – I can only describe it as breathtaking. Snorkelling in the crystal clear waters around Koh Wao and reaching the viewpoint over the emerald lake are memories I hope I will have forever. Visiting the marine park is easy as a day trip from Koh Samui.

- Island tour with Elephant trekking – With so many trips and excursions to choose from in Koh Samui you are spoilt for choice. We went for the Eco Tour and wow, what a day! Elephant trekking and seeing the baby elephants in the orphanage, having a traditional village lunch in a remote village. Visiting the Naming waterfall, swimming in the waterfall pool, and so much more.
- Buddhist Temples – There are a few Buddhist temples you can visit in Koh Samui. The main one is The Golden Buddha. If you get the chance to go it’s a special place. The temples in Bangkok are also amazing and definitely should make up part of your holiday if you spend a few nights there.
- Beaches in Koh Samui – Your trip to Koh Samui wouldn’t be complete without visiting the many beautiful beaches. Some of the quieter beaches on the north coast include Bang Rak, Bo Phut, Mae Nam, and Choeng Mon. The livelier beaches are Chaweng and Lamai. At night, the sun loungers are replaced with large cushions that are put out by many of the local beachside bars so that you can enjoy the beach at night. Imagine lying on cushions on a tropical beach, sipping a cocktail, and looking up at the stars, heaven! If you get the chance, go to one of the notorious beach parties. We went to a black moon beach party whilst there, chances are there will be one during your stay. With the fantastic choice of holiday villas in Koh Samui, you can choose your perfect beach destination on the island.
