I love my days off with Ava I really do and I look forward to them every week. Then I get to them and find myself wondering what to do. I’m not sure why really but we end up spending those days just us two.
If I think about it a lot of my friends have older kids and meeting up for a coffee was possible when she was a baby and is now totally impossible for any longer than it takes her to eat a snack. In other words not for long before I end up having to chase after her and ignore my friends.
We’ve lived in 3 different villages since having her and the toddler group in the newest one falls on a day I work. I have NO local friends as the boys still go to School in the first village I haven’t had the chance to meet anyone.
It does get lonely sometimes and I worry about her having friends. We go to a music group one of the days I’m off and the mums and toddlers are lovely but I haven’t made any friendships that continue outside of the group.
So when it comes to my days with Ava we do things together. Last week I took her to a local country park with her SmarTrike which she just loves. We had such a lovely time together and it made me realise that it’s ok to be spending all this time just me and her. Before I know it she will be at school and I will desperately miss just being able to go and do things, spending that quality time together.
I made a little vlog of our trip. If you haven’t already I would love it if you subscribed to my Youtube Chanel. I’m planning on having lots more content going on there!

Ahhh she’s so cute! It’s beautiful there, I’ve only been once though. What lovely memories for you. I must admit I love my 2 days with Albert doing things together just us 2. If you ever want to meet up though, it would be lovely to catch up. Which days do you work?
I spend most of my days just me and the kids, especially when we go out. It does get lonely, but I love it. Especially now Indiana talks, I don’t need anyone else haha xx
What beautiful scenery! It’s lovely that you have such a strong bond with your daughter and actually have a friendship there too – the two aren’t always a given as I’m finding out with mine, sadly. #picknmix
aww I adore days just me and the children though – there will be plenty of time in the future that she will make friends … always time for that but those special days with just mummy will get rarer and rarer so cherish them #PickNMix
The time passes so quickly, it’s important to make the most of it while you can. I’m back working full time now and miss those wee days where we could just go for a picnic or visit a museum. Enjoy x
I have this worry too – I work three days a week and have the other two off with my daughter. All my mummy friend work on the days I have off, so it’s often just us two. It’s hard thinking of different things to do with an energetic toddler! #PicknMix

I love spending time alone with my youngest – we only get one morning a week together at the moment which I love. He starts school in September so it will be strange not having him around. Gorgeous girl you have there. Sarah #PicknMix – PS – you asked which camera a use, it’s a Nikon D3000 which my brother fixed up for me, I ‘m loving playing around with it x
I really miss the time I used to spend with BB now she’s at school – all this passes too soon! #picknmix
I would cherish every moment you have with her. Like you say it won’t be long until she’s going to school and too independent for mum!

I’m exactly the same, I just spend my days with Holly and Alice on the days she isn’t at preschool and I do love it. Yes, it does get lonely of adult conversation, but I do cherish these times with my girls. x #picknmix
It looks absolutely picturesque! My daughter loves her smart trike too, we are in fact waiting for the rain to stop to head out on it this afternoon!

I love spending the days just me and the kids. the kids will have plenty of time to make extra friends once they start nursery. There weren’t manybabygroups when we were younger, our days were spent at the parks with mum and that’s okay #picknmix
Ooh enjoy those days, my youngest started school in Sept and although I am used to having the day to myself now, sometimes I do miss our little days together, just the two of us! Also do not worry, once she starts school you will both make lots of new friends! #picknmix
When I just have days with my middle little lady (well we have her baby brother too) we don’t do anything and I feel so guilty! I have promised myself I will not waste the summer holidays just staying inside and will cherish it as I’m back work in October and i have another starting full time school !! Xx #picknmix
Aww she’s so cute and I think there is nothing wrong with spending time together just as a two. I spend every day with my boy as, like you, I haven’t really got any friends I see outside of play groups in our new hometown. I do enjoy making lots of memories together as I know before long he will be at school and I will miss him loads xx #picknmix
I love that first photo of Ava 🙂 sounds like a lovely way to spend time and brilliant to get some one on one time too 🙂

I used to love spending my day off with my youngest. We would pootle around or go on little day trips together. He started nursery last September so now we only have half the day together before picking up his older brother.
Definitely enjoy the time you have with Ava – it goes by so fast! #PicknMix
