The Retreat, Portugal and finally some sun – Little Loves

April was such a busy month for us that I am only just getting around to writing about it. With two trips away, milestones reached and finally some sun it was a good month!

I went for a weekend to The Retreat, an amazing bloggers conference with professional speakers and a group of lovely people. I spent two nights there and came away having learnt a huge amount and feeling very inspired. Some of the sessions I took part in were beach photography, confidence on camera and fashion photography. With so many sessions to choose from we were spoilt for choice, there really was something for everyone. It’s going to be a yearly event and I will definitely be getting a ticket for next year, I already can’t wait.

I was also lucky enough to spend three nights in Portugal with Martinhal for the Luxury Family Brand Event. I had never been to Portugal before and I loved it, especially Lisbon. You can read all about my trip and see my many photos.

Read

I actually managed to read a couple fo books this month, helped by a child free weekend in Portugal. First I read The Tattooist of Auschwitz, based on a true story, I really enjoyed this love story, giving hope in the most horrible of places.

My other favourite from this month is The Cows, about not following the trend. It had me laughing and cringing in equal measures. A really great read.

Watched

We watched the whole first series of Marcella. I had heard good things about it and was hooked after the first episode. It is one of the programmes that leaves some questions unanswered though which I always find annoying.

I’m sorry, not sorry to everyone in the UK, but I’m loving life today! @martinhal is stunning and the weather has been beautiful. I’ve just been enjoying an aperòl Spritz before heading off for dinner and have met some lovely people after being nervous travelling on my own. What a gorgeous couple of days! It’s like the weather is trying to apologise for the rubbish winter, I’ve not forgiven it yet though! I hope you are having a good bank holiday? We’ve had a day in the garden, with a bbq and strawberry cider! Then today we spent with family having lunch, picnic blankets, blossom and finding a stall selling Aperòl Spritz! In other words a pretty perfect couple of days. Not to mention the fact I actually feel on top of the never ending clothes washing (yes to being able to hang clothes outside!) I couldn’t resist capturing an Instagram cliche pic today! And Lastly ….

Ava started ballet and seeing her able to join in with her speech improving and also being well enough was so lovely.

So this happened today! And I actually welled up a bit, which never happens! Not only because I’ve longed for a little girl to take to ballet, but because it’s so good seeing her well enough to be able to go. And not only that, but to be able to communicate with the others in her class and her teacher. So this was a big moment for lots of different reasons and she did so well! She loved it and her ballet clothes and shoes until she got hungry and needed a snack halfway through! I hope she enjoys dancing as much as I did when I was younger!
