If your baby is anything like mine they will need constant attention. Sometimes it’s nice to be able to go to the toilet in peace and know that they aren’t trying to lick the toilet seat or play with something else they really shouldn’t be. Plug socket anyone?
Ava loves anything sensory to play with so I have come up with some ideas to hopefully keep her occupied and that aren’t too hard to put together. Each week I will post a new easy baby sensory idea so if you don’t want to miss them make sure you sign up for my emails.
Different texture balls basket
This easy baby sensory activity is so quick to put together and will hopefully keep your little one occupied for quite a while. Well long enough to go to the toilet! There are links to some of the sensory balls I have included in the basket in this post – Creating a dark sensory tent or area for your baby or toddler. The others I have put in are a plastic one from a set from Tesco’s, a harder plastic ball from a toy set and a wooden one from a building brick set. You could also put in a tennis ball or any other balls you have as long as they are too big to be put in their mouth. I have used a soft basket that contained play food from Ikea. You could also use a wicker basket, cut up a cardboard box or put them in a plastic mixing bowl.
Enjoy going to the toilet in peace!

This is a great idea. And definitely a great tool for quickly whipping out when you need the bathroom! ๐ x
Ah to go to the toilet in peace, it’d be lovely. Even if everyone is happily playing if I go to the toilet it’s guaranteed someone will come knock on the door. this is a great idea for learning & also toilet distraction lol Thanks so much for hosting #PicknMix x
I love these ideas you have ๐ I just wish I had seen them when my two were younger, such fab ideas and tips ๐

Good idea! My little ones are obsessed with different types of balls! #PicknMix
This looks like a great idea – thanks for sharing. Anything that is even a bit like a ball goes down well with my youngest. I’m sure he’ll love this. :0)
I definitely need to get some more activities like this for my youngest. She would love this. Well, if I could stop my toddler running off with all of the balls. Sharing still an alien concept for now!
Any tips for distracting danger mouse well received! Just hopped from here to the tent post… Def getting some of those bits x #picknmix
A lovely idea! I like easy sensory baskets, however my little would just bring it with him too the toilet when I go, I doubt I’ll ever get to go in peace! ๐ x
Even at 9 and 11 the boys don’t leave me in peace in the bathroom. Every time I get in the shower someone decides to try and have a conversation with me while I shout ‘I can’t hear you!!!’. Your first link didn’t work so hope I added the right one to our linky?!

Aw this reminds me of when Tyler was a baby! We called them Treasure Baskets and put in things around the house that had different textures. It would occupy him for ages, I could watch TV in peace! Sabrina xx #picknmix
Very nicely done! I have got lots of scattered balls around the house here, but I think putting in a basket to play with whilst I’m going to do my business is an excellent idea! ๐ #PicknMix
My boy would love this still now at nearly 2! it’s always the simplest of things what keeps them entertained for the longest. #PickNMix
