2 months old
As I write this post, baby girl is 10 weeks old. It’s hard to remember what life was like before her now. She’s currently poorly having been given some lovely germs by her big brothers. Despite this she is still trying to be smiley.
Milestones
She started smiling about 4/5 weeks. We get a lot of smiles now, and we’ve had a few almost laughs. She has started cooing which is lovely to hear. We have really noticed in the last week that she will now follow you or objects as they move. Her eyesight is getting a lot better and she doesn’t go cross eyed as much. We were worried about that as she spent a lot of time cross eyed initially.
Sleep
The girl likes sleep. Some days she still spends most of it asleep. She’s definitely getting into a little routine of falling asleep for the night about 7/8. She loves sleeping in her poddle pod, so we wrap her up and put her in their with us downstairs. Not sure when we will start putting her up as her reflux can still be quite bad. I’ve got sleep sensors and a video monitor for when we do.
Feeding
She is still feeding lots, although she will now go a bit longer inbetween feeds unless she is having a growth spurt. She does a longer stretch of 4-5 hours most nights, annoying thing is it’s from about 8, so she then wakes and 1ish then again at 4ish. She doesn’t sleep very well between 4-8 as she has been lying down for a while by them so she starts getting congested and will feed on and off till she wakes up. I’ve had to totally cut out dairy under the advice of the paediatrician, we are pretty sure she is reacting to it through my diet.
Reflux
She is having bad days and better days. I accidentally ate something with milk in the other day and the next day she was awful. Really sick and struggled all day with it coming up. We couldn’t move her from off our shoulder all day. I’m not sure if it was a coincidence with my slip up, or the fact she has a cold. She is still on her dose of lansoprazole. It does seem to be helping make her a bit more comfortable as she doesn’t cry in pain with her hiccups as much. We are seeing a dietician in the new year who can hopefully advise me on cutting out dairy and keeping healthy.
Firsts
It was baby girls first christmas 🙂 she spent most of the day asleep with her cold, but woke up for a bit and gave everyone a few smiles. It’s also been her first trip to Devon to meet her auntie, uncle and cousins from my oh side of the family and see her grandma again.
Weight
Last time we got her weighed at the hospital she was 10lb 10oz.
Clothes size
Baby girl is just fitting into up to 1 month/newborn really nicely. They won’t fit for much longer. She can wear 0-3 now without it looking ridiculous on her.

What a gorgeous little girl, time flies so quickly does it. I love you week update cards. #PoCoLo
Aww lovely update, she’s gorgeous 🙂 Sorry to hear about her reflux, our LM has been the same and I couldn’t eat dairy when I was bfing her. We’ve now moved onto a lactose free formula and she is so much better, using that and Gaviscon. Xx #pocolo (http://Becomingastayathomemum.com)
Oh and meant to mention, we have a new link up, #MaternityMondays and would love you to link up any baby related posts! 🙂 xx
Oh bless her, she is gorgeous. She looks so peaceful on her poddle pod – and very comfy too. Thank you for linking to #PoCoLo x
