Halloween Things To Do 2018 – In Bedford, Northampton And Milton Keynes
Are you looking for things to do over the School holidays this October half term? I’ve put together a list of Halloween things to do in Bedford, Northampton and Milton Keynes 2018. There are even some free activities in the list. Please bare in mind, these activities span two weeks due to the different half term dates. Have a Spooky Halloween!

Halloween things to do in Bedford, Northampton and Milton Keynes 2018
Halloween Party is on Sunday 28th October – come in fancy dress and enter our fancy dress competition – there’s also a pumpkin carving competition.
Visit our huge pumpkin patch, grab a wheelbarrow and choose your own pumpkin to carve (extra charge for your pumpkin). Children love taking their wheelbarrow up and down the rows of pumpkins to choose the ‘perfect pumpkin’ to carve. Watch our “Panto Style” Ghost Story in the display barn. A hit with children and adults alike! Not too scary with a bit of “It’s behind you” slapstick thrown in! Take a Witch’s House Tour around Daisy the Witch’s living room, there is no charge for this but you will need to pre book. Walk through our Spooky Walkway if you dare. Dark and Gloomy with a bit of scary music thrown in!
Take a ride on our Spooky Tractor Ride, Full of screams and laughs, again one for all the family. Pre booking is essential. Small extra charge of £2 per person, under 2’s are free
Grab your Goggles, put on your Best Steampunk gear & head over to Rushden Station, for a day filled with Quirky Entertainment, Music, Fun & a choice of beverages.
There will be Hot & Cold Food, our Infamous Gin Bar and a selection of Real Ales.
We will have Live Music, Steampunk Fashion & Loads More!
Join us for a spooky Halloween trail in the gardens of Delapré Abbey. A scary but fun time for all the family. Watch out for our ghostly characters and a few creepy favourites along the way.
£3.50 per person, £10 family (1 adult, 3 children or 2 adults, 2 children.
No need to book. Last start at 8pm.
Refreshments available in café before, during and after.
Other activities including Trick or Treat Lucky Dip, Pumpkin Shy and Apple Bobbing from £1 a go.
Follow the trail around our gardens to find the hidden pumpkins, once found copy the face of the pumpkin on the activity sheet provided. Find all the pumpkins to win a prize! But watch out there could be some spooky goings on too!

Birds of Prey – Owls To behold are back on the 23rd, 25th & 27th October in the Visitor Centre.

Aimed at (but not exclusive to) children ages 5-11 years old your Slime fanatics will spend 90 minutes creating two slime pots, experiment with slime handing, join our Slime stretching competition and hang out with some new pals, all with a Halloween twist!
Join us for a spooky boat trip into Blisworth tunnel this Halloween. Our mutinous crew will tell you creepy tales of the hauntings in the tunnel that is over 200 years old. Each brave soul who enters the tunnel will get a halloween treat!
Places are limited on each trip. To book please contact The Canal Museum 01604 862229 You are advised to be at the museum at least 15 minutes before your trip – the boat cannot wait for latecomers.
Wear warm clothing as the tunnel is cold, dark and spooky!
Trips will run at 5.15pm, 6.00pm & 6.45pm
Each trip is approximately 30 minutes

Get set for a spook-tacular range of Halloween-themed activities, monster mythbuster animal talks and hands-on crafts this October half-term at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
Visitors will be able to carve pumpkins*, get up-close with invertebrates and discover the not-so-scary side to the amazing animals close to home in our Super Natural Neighbours challenge.
Help Percy the Pumpkin find all the clues to save the Halloween sweeties from Witchy Wendy. Our self-led trail will take place in our very SPOOKtacular Sensory Garden, with some BOOtiful characters along the way – all children receive a certificate and sweets for taking part.
PRICE -£3 per child – free for adults and accompanying under 2’s. Parental supervision essential – we advise booking in advance as there may not be spaces left on the day!

Dust off your best fancy dress costumes and get ready to dance, scream and play lots of party games as we celebrate the spookiest time of year!

Hot food will be available for adults, and the bar will be open as normal.
CREATING AN AUTUMNAL GLOW
Make a willow and tissue lantern decorated with autumn leaves collected around the Park, which will look amazing lit up at night for Halloween or Bonfire Night, or just to add a woodland glow to a room.
Suitable for ages 5 – 10. Not suitable for under 5’s.
Sessions last approx. 45 mins and are at 9.30am, 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm and cost £4.50 per child. Booking and parental supervision essential.
Grab your cloaks and steady your nerves as your little horrors scare themselves silly this Halloween half term. Mysterious goings-on await you at petrifying Wrest Park. Meet our gruesome guides as they take you on a journey into the puzzling past – use all your wits to solve the riddles and claim your terrifying treat. Have a got at our creepy crafts and try your hand at carving your very own petrifying pumpkin to take away.
Additional charge of £4 applies for pumpkin carving, sessions at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm on a first come first served basis.
Woodland Walk – Fri 26 & Sat 27 Oct
Tours at 5.30pm, 6.30pm & 7.30pm
Join Obadiah Squires and Mrs Bottom, ghost hunters and storytellers extraordinaire, on a trail through rarely trodden woodland paths this Halloween. Get ready for a mixture of spine-tingling and humorous stories that will tease and thrill, startle and shock everyone, young and old alike. This walk takes place outside, please wear clothing and shoes suitable for the weather. Tour is suitable for children as young as 5 and lasts 45mins.
Get into the spirit of Halloween with the magnificent owls at Herrings Green Farm, you will have the opportunity to meet, handle and fly them. You can also practice your pumpkin carving skills and treat yourself to a Glass of witches brew and a creepy cupcake. Booking is recommended.
Join these spooky craft sessions at the Garden Rooms Cafe, each day will have a different theme (e.g. glittery pumpkins, owl hangers, glow spiders, melted lanterns, pine cone bats) and the session lasts for approximately 1 hour. Most suitable for children aged 5+ and booking is recommended.
Hobbycraft Bedford- Free Slime making – 22nd /24th & 26th October
Make your very own textured slime for FREE at this slime making workshop in Hobbycraft. Suitable for children aged 4+ and booking is essential.
Frosts Willington-22nd – 28th October Wizard School
As we approach Halloween, young Witches and Wizards of all ages are invited to join our Professor at Frost’s Wizard School. No previous spellcasting is necessary during this magical thirty-five minute experience, as our Professor and the team find out if you’ve got the right stuff to make it in the world of Witches and Wizards. There will be entertainment, songs, Chocolate Apple Dunking and definitely a trick or treat (or two!) All newt-ly qualified students will receive their special certificate. Child ticket includes 1 adult admission, each additional adult is charged at £1.99
Willington 25th-28th Pumpkin Carving Get creepy this Halloween and come and carve a Pumpkin with our spooky events team. The team will be on hand to assist with those tricky designs! Included in the price is a battery operated tea light and a cup of our famous witches brew. £5.99 per child
Celebrate this wonderful autumnal vegetable and carve a locally grown pumpkin to take home ready for Halloween (best to reserve your pumpkin online in advance). There will also be fun activities for the children, including face painting, pony rides, tumbling teddies, craft activities, a fancy dress competition and more.
Head on over to Shuttleworth for a fun-filled evening, follow the spooky trail, join in some ghoulish games and listen to scary stories. Booking is essential and under 3s go FREE.
Practice your pumpkin carving sills and make a birch broom to take home at this special event for families. Dress up in your best outfit and enjoy some apple bobbing and spooky storytelling. Booking is essential and adults go FREE.

Experience Monster Magic at Gulliver’s Theme Parks from Saturday 13th October 2018! You will also have the chance to enjoy Swizzels Trick and Treat activities. Look out for different themes as you face some frightfully fun activities at Warrington, Milton Keynes and Matlock Bath.
Discover lots of awesome activities and attractions to make this trail a real treat. Don’t miss out on a trip to Leonard’s Scare School or prepare for a Wicked Costume Party on park.
Get your picture taken at each stage as you transform into some seriously scary characters, from a wicked witch to Pumpkin Peat. Selected characters from Hotel Transylvania 3 will be appearing at intervals throughout the day at each park; Murray and Frank at Milton Keynes.
Throughout October half-term there will be our ever-popular Halloween trail, spooky treats to tickle your tastebuds, and crafty activities for everyone to get involved with.
20-26th Use your imagination and create your very own pumpkin design. Make sure to come early as they have a limited number of pumpkins grown especially for us! £4 per pumpkin
20th – 28th To celebrate our ‘Creatures and Creations’ exhibition at the Coach House Gallery, this years Halloween trail takes you through the woods in search of some creatures of the night. See how many creatures you can find on our special illuminated woodland trail. £2 per child
Halloween is creeping up on us and eerie things are about to happen at intu this half term. Scare away the half term holiday boredom witha a week filled with fang-tastic, free-ky activities for your little monster.

The Big Trick or Treat Grab one of our pumpkin buckets and enjoy sweet treats in a safe (and warm) environment. Join us on 27 and 28 October from 10 for a day of fun and free trick or treating as your little ones are invited to find all retailers and their devilish delights. Come dressed for the occasion and collect your bucket from the customer service desk next to Debenhams.
Please note, buckets will be issued on a first come, first serve basis so arrive early to avoid dissapointment.
During half term there’ll be demonstrations, displays, and plenty of fun things to do as the Museum does its bit to occupy young and old while school is out.
Special attractions include a pumpkin trail throughout the galleries, plus the chance to craft Jack O’Lanterns and bats.
Our ‘science and more’ shows are always one of the most popular parts of school holidays so don’t miss those either.
Autumn is the perfect time to try out our nature trail, enjoy hot buttered toast made on our kitchen range, or tuck into delicious homemade cakes in our Granary cafe.
