Baker Days Dairy Free Letterbox Cake – review

If you follow my blog you will know that I am currently dairy and soya free due to Ava’s allergies. So when I was contacted by Baker Days I was initially excited at the prospect of cake, then quickly remembered it would be unlikely that I would be able to eat it. However I was really pleased and shocked to find out that they do a dairy free version. A quick Google and look on their website at their ingredients confirmed that their dairy free cake is also soya free. For those with allergies they also do a gluten and wheat free cake.

The process of ordering a cake is really easy.

Choose your Occasion, there are so many to choose from. Varying from Mother’s Day to Engagement. You can see a list here.
Next you choose your design. There are loads of really colourful designs that you wouldn’t see in the shops. It took me a while to choose one. If you want something specific there is also the option to design a cake and some can also be personalised. You can design photo cakes and there are cupcakes too.
After that you choose they type of sponge you would like. I opted for the dairy free, but would have normally gone for the chocolate.
You then choose the size of cake you would like. I got the letterbox size cake which had 4 portions. You can also get a small (10-12 portions), medium (18-25 portions) and large (40-55 portions) cake. It’s worth noting that the dairy free version is only available in the letterbox and small size and incurs an extra charge.
Finally you fill out your details and the recipients details. Decide on a postage date, you can get them delivered next day at an extra cost. You then add a message to the complimentary card and choose extras, helium baloons, bubbles, banners and candles if you wish. Then wait for the delivery of your cake.

My Baker Days dairy free letterbox cake would cost £18.49 without any extras or paying extra for postage. A normal letterbox cake would cost £14.99.

The letterbox cake really is letter box. It arrived in a little box inside a pretty tin and came with a card and sweets. I really loved the design of the cake that I chose. I can also confirm that it was yummy.

I love that you can send cake by post. James’ Mum lives far away from us so it’s something we could do for her for special Occasions. Great for family you might not be able to see on their Birthday. Or great for anyone, because who wouldn’t like to receive a cake for them in the post?
